The Nobis Family began in 2013, when Mike and I were married. In 2014, we welcomed our son Jacob, and from that moment on, our greatest joy was growing together as a family. Over the years, we lived in Arizona, North Carolina, and now Texas - but no matter where life took us, one thing remained constant: our love for spending meaningful time together.

Travel became our way of connecting, and Kauai, Hawaii quickly became our most cherished place. It’s where we were married, and it always held a special piece of our hearts. We brought Jacob there to share in that love and those memories.

 

In late 2024, we lost Mike - an incredible husband and father - to a very aggressive cancer. Our world changed forever. But Jacob and I knew one thing without a doubt: Mike would want us to keep living, exploring, and finding joy together. So in 2025, we returned to Kauai - not just to visit, but to honor him. The photo you see was taken in the very spot where Mike and I were married, a place that has now become deeply meaningful for Jacob and me as we continue forward together.

 

Mike and I always dreamed of leaving something special behind for Jacob. I met Mike in Arizona, where I lived for 10 years, and to this day it remains my favorite place. Although moving back wasn’t in the cards for Jacob and I, we found a way to bring that love to life through what we’ve created now - our own “hospitality hideout.”

Jacob shares the same passion for travel and meaningful experiences, and together we’ve poured our hearts into creating a space where others can do the same. Our Desert Oasis is inspired by the places and moments that shaped us. I even had the chance to take Jacob to the spots where Mike and I once dated - RA Sushi, the Scottsdale Botanical Garden, Sedona - and he embraced every moment of it.

This is where our passion was born: creating a special place for others to relax, reconnect, and make lasting memories. Whether it’s the peaceful desert air, breathtaking views, or endless opportunities for adventure, we want every guest to feel something meaningful during their stay.
